On facebook the other day, I came across something an ‘event’ created by the Tampa Bay Pro Life Alliance (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tampa-Bay-Pro-Life-Alliance/224490987579576 or http://www.tampabayprolife.org/). It is called: Pro Life Act Of Random Kindness Month, and is filled with lots of lovely ideas to brighten the lives of others! Obviously it can be done at all times, not just this month 😉 Those on facebook may want to ‘join’ their event and let them know you are participating. They are also open to suggestions to add to their page (let me know if you are not on facebook and want me to pass something on). One thing for my non Christian readers to note: there is a fair amount of mention of God, scripture, etc. But do not let that discourage you, just modify it a bit.
Here is what they, themselves have written about the event:
It can be done anywhere and everywhere you are as well as right here on Facebook!
The objective of this outreach is to inspire you to do something randomly nice for single parents, expecting wedded and unwedded parents, and to encourage other pro-lifers that their hard work is not going unnoticed.
… Some ideas include:
*Sending a message to single or expecting parents letting them know you are praying for them.
*Sending a giftcard or present along with a Christian inspirational card to their mailing address (Family Christian or DaySprings have great baby cards)
*Sending a birthday or babyshower gift or giftcard
*Comment on ultrasound pictures or pregnant pictures with a pro-life Bible verse and thank them for choosing life. (i.e. Psalm 127:3-5, Psalm 139-14:16, John 16:21, Psalm 128:3, etc)
*Send a message to other pro-lifers who are being vocal for the cause, encouraging them in their work and to continue fighting the good fight.
*If you see a car with a Choose Life license plate or a pro-life bumper sticker, leave a note encouraging them.
*Take a box of donuts, a fruit tray, or another snack to your local pregnancy center and thank them for their life-saving work!
*Donate money or baby items to a local pregnancy center
*Make or buy cards and visit the waiting room of the NICU at your local Children’s Hospital and let worried parents know you are praying for them and their babies or offer to pray with them right then and there!
Let us know if you have any other ideas, and be creative! Pray and see what the Lord would have you do. These people are choosing life so we need to encourage and celebrate with them.
We would love to hear your stories so please leave comments on this event page!”
